ABSTRACT

In the coming weeks, the call for "Public-private collaboration projects" (formerly called "Retos Colaboración"), is expected to open. It funds experimental development projects in collaboration between companies and research organizations. Since 2010, CIMNE has participated in 38 projects in this call, with a total budget of € 8.4 million. The average success rate is close to 50%, and a 100% increase in the budget allocation is anticipated in this edition.

In the talk, the characteristics of the call will be briefly introduced and practical information will be given on all aspects related to this type of project: definition of the project, formation of the consortium, preparation of the proposal, execution and justification.

SPEAKERS

MSc Civil Engineering (UPM, 2002) and PhD on Structural Analysis (UPC, 2017). Associate Research Professor at CIMNE and head of the group on “Machine Learning in Civil Engineering”. He has a background in engineering consultancy, focused on hydraulic engineering and dam safety. Since he joined CIMNE in 2009, his research lines involved the combination of data-driven and numerical modelling to solve problems in different fields. He has been PI in 18 projects funded by this call, which has been the fundamental source of funding for his research group.
