ICREA Senior
  • Full name: Convocatoria ICREA Senior
  • Description: ICREA, Catalan Institution for Research and Advanced Studies, is a foundation supported by the Catalan Government and guided by a Board of Trustees. ICREA was created in response to the need to seek new hiring formulas that would make it possible to compete with other research systems on a similar footing by focusing on hiring only the most talented and extraordinary scientists and academics. ICREA offers permanent places in the Catalan research system. The selected researchers become ICREA Research Professors. At regular intervals throughout their career, ICREA researchers go through an evaluation process (promotion). ICREA positions are not compatible with permanent positions outside the Catalan research system (not even part-time).

ERC Advanced Grant
  • Full name: ERC Advanced Grant
  • Description: The ERC's mission is to encourage the highest quality research in Europe through competitive funding and to support investigator-driven frontier research across all fields, based on scientific excellence.
    Are you an established, leading principal investigator who wants long-term funding to pursue a ground-breaking, high-risk project? The ERC Advanced Grant could be for you.
    These grants are for active researchers with a track-record of significant research achievements in the last 10 years. The Principal Investigators should be exceptional leaders in terms of originality and significance of their research contributions.
  • Call for applications: Yearly calls for proposals covering all scientific fields. (It is foreseen from December to May)

ERC Consolidator Grant
  • Full name: ERC Consolidator Grants
  • Description: The ERC's mission is to encourage the highest quality research in Europe through competitive funding and to support investigator-driven frontier research across all fields, based on scientific excellence.
    Are you a scientist who wants to consolidate your independence by establishing a research team and continuing to develop a success career in Europe? The ERC Consolidator Grant could be for you. You can also apply if you have recently created an independent, excellent research team and want to strengthen it. These grants are for researchers with 7-12 years of experience since completion of PhD, a scientific track record showing great promise and an excellent research proposal.

Programa ATRAE
  • Full name: Ayudas para incentivar la incorporación de talento consolidado «Programa ATRAE»
  • Description: The “Programa ATRAE" aims to attract researchers of recognized prestige. The Ministry of Science and Innovation (MICINN), through the State Research Agency (AEI), will allocate 25 million euros in aid to this initiative that seeks to facilitate the incorporation of consolidated research talent, of recognized international prestige, so as to promote progress towards a more competitive Science Spanish System.
    These grants are for PhD researchers (before January 2016).
    The researchers have must been professionally linked to a foreign research organizations for at least 5 year (during the period between January 1, 2016 and the start date of the deadline for submission of applications).
    Those researchers must be top 10% of researchers in their area of specialisation at a global level, be a researcher responsible for an active European Research Council (ERC) project, have the highest level of the academic/research career in the country of origin, or have directed as principal investigator (PI) a significant number of research projects in competitive calls, whether national of any country or international, having made throughout his career contributions of great relevance and impact in his area of expertise.
  • Call for applications: Juny / July 2023.
  • Duration: 3-4 years
  • Project Grant: €1,000,000 per action, including indirect costs (25% of the costs of executing the research project and the costs of establishing and/or improving facilities and equipment).
