The event

CIMNE and CEAM are jointly organising a training and networking session for companies interested in advanced simulation, digital innovation and process improvement for the metal industry.

The session will offer a practical overview of how CIMNE’s computational engineering capabilities can support industrial organisations in addressing real production challenges, improving processes and exploring new opportunities for collaboration.

Objectives

  • To present CIMNE’s expertise in advanced numerical simulation, digital technologies and innovation applied to industrial processes.
  • To showcase real applications in metal forming, machining, additive manufacturing, fatigue, topological optimisation and immersive technologies.
  • To foster dialogue between research teams and companies around current industrial needs, challenges and opportunities.
  • To encourage future collaboration between CIMNE, CEAM and companies seeking technological support for innovation and competitiveness.

Programme

  • Institutional welcome and introduction to CIMNE
    Presentation of CIMNE’s mission, research and innovation capabilities, with a focus on technology transfer and collaboration with industry.
  • Advanced simulation for metal forming and industrial machining
    Session led by Fernando Rastellini,
    Josep M. Carbonell and
    Júnior Ramírez, including practical cases in flow forming, spinning and stamping processes.
  • Coffee break and networking
    An opportunity for participants to exchange views with CIMNE researchers, CEAM representatives and other companies.
  • Simulation technologies for manufacturing, materials and industrial components
    Contributions by Michele Chiumenti and
    Narges Dialami on additive manufacturing, Friction Stir Welding and EDM machining;
    Sergio Jiménez and
    Lucía Barbu on fatigue in metals; and
    Àlex Ferrer on topological optimisation for industrial components.
  • Round table: industrial challenges and opportunities
    A discussion on companies’ current needs in the context of Industry 5.0, moderated by
    Jordi Jiménez, Project Development Director and Head of Tech Transfer & Innovation at CIMNE.
  • Guided visit and immersive technology demonstration
    The session will conclude with a guided visit and an optional demonstration of virtual reality applied to training and safety in industrial environments, with
    Javier Mora.
