CV Engineer’s degree in Aeronautical Mechanical (IUA, 2003), M.Sc. in Structural Engineering (UNT, 2009) and Ph.D. in Structural Analysis by the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC, 2016). Professor at UPC, at the Barcelona School of Nautical Studies, since 2020 and researcher at CIMNE since 2010. Has held a post-doctoral position at INEGI, Universidade do Porto in the period 2017-2020. He is currently leading the SGR-CAT 2021 (01375) CAMMS Structural Analysis research group. Research focuses on composites constitutive modelling in computational non-linear solid mechanics, plasticity and damage failure mechanisms, finite element method, phenomenological homogenization, computational multiscale homogenization, failure modes of composite materials, large-strain deformations, optimization and machine learning methods. He has been publishing around 20 top peer-review Q1 journals and participation in 8 public and private international funding projects. Of those, he is currently working in two European projects, Fibregy and Fibre4yards. Fibregy (www.fibregy.eu) is working on the best approach to include composite in offshore energy structures (such wind mills and tidal turbines), and Fibre4yards (www.fibre4yards.eu) is developing new technologies to improve the automatization of shipyards building composite ships, as well as defining what should be a shipyard 4.0.
