Professor Xavier Sànchez-Vila, in Forbes list of top 50 most awarded spaniards

Xavier Sànchez-VilaProfessor Xavier Sànchez-Vila, leader of the Hydrogeology Research Group of CIMNE and Director of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Technical University of Catalonia, has been ranked in the 50th position of the Forbes list of the top 50 most awarded Spaniards.

The Forbes list includes the most influential personalities in their field (science, engineering, architecture, sport and arts). Therefore, appearing in this ranking rewards the capacity for leadership and innovation in their speciality.

Prof. Sànchez-Vila is a prestigious international scientists in the field of the mathematical modelling and the numerical study of problems in ground water flow and related problems in hydrogeology.

In 2020, Sànchez-Vila was awarded by the European Geosciences Union with the Henry Darcy for his innovatives theory about aquifers.
