The International Centre for Numerical Methods in Engineering (CIMNE) yesterday welcomed a delegation of representatives from Chinese aeronautics and metrology research organisations to its headquarters in Barcelona. The visit provided an opportunity for a high-level exchange on areas of shared scientific and technological interest.
The delegation brought together representatives from the Chinese Aeronautical Establishment, the Beijing Changcheng Institute of Metrology & Measurement, the Flight Automatic Control Research Institute in Xi’an and the AVIC Xi’an Aeronautics Computing Technique Research Institute.
The working session was held in the Olgierd Cecil Zienkiewicz (OCZ) Conference Room at CIMNE’s headquarters on the North Campus of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya – BarcelonaTech (UPC). The delegation was received by Dr Gabriel Bugeda, CIMNE’s Institutional Relations Director, and Dr Sebastià Olivella, Scientific Director.
Participants exchanged perspectives on their respective research activities and capabilities, with discussions covering areas related to aeronautics, metrology and measurement technologies, as well as computational engineering. The session also served to identify common scientific interests and to deepen mutual knowledge between the participating institutions, especially those regarding advanced numerical simulation.
The visit falls within CIMNE’s international institutional activity, which prioritises work exchanges with research and technological centres working in applied engineering fields and frontier research.
