Last week, a delegation from CIMNE (International Centre for Numerical Methods in Engineering) visited BIAM (Beijing Institute of Aeronautical Materials) and CAE (Chinese Aeronautical Establishment) in Beijing, China.
The institutional visit aimed to strengthen CIMNE’s cooperation with both organisations and advance joint research in numerical methods, computational engineering and specialised aeronautical applications.
The CIMNE delegation included Prof. Gabriel Bugeda, CIMNE’s Institutional Relations Director, together with researchers representing the centre’s research clusters in Solid and Fluid Simulation for Industrial Processes; Aeronautical, Marine, Automotive and Energy Engineering; Structural and Particle Mechanics; and Large Scale Multiphysics Computations.
Workshops were held at both BIAM and CAE, providing a forum for researchers from each organisation to present and exchange their latest scientific and technological developments. The meetings also offered an opportunity to review ongoing collaborative projects and explore potential areas for new joint initiatives.

The visit consolidates CIMNE’s long-standing scientific links with Chinese institutions and reinforces its commitment to international cooperation, knowledge exchange and the development of innovative computational solutions for the aeronautical sector.
