Ethics Channel
We believe in fostering a safe and ethical environment for everyone at CIMNE. The Ethics Channel offers a safe avenue to share suggestions and complains or report suspected missbehaviour.

Ethics Channel
This is a mock text about the idea we want to convey here, among the lines of “At CIMNE, we have identified five themes that guide and inform our research efforts, based on local and global priorities, and pressing societal needs”.
What is it
CIMNE’s Ethics Channel is a secure communication system that allows anyone to share suggestions, complains or possible ethical violations or irregularities linked to CIMNE’s activities. Reports can be submitted anonymously or with identification and are always treated with full confidentiality.
Main features:
-
- Available to anyone, including staff, partners, and the public
- Allows anonymous submissions
- Enables tracking of the report’s status
- Accepts document attachments
- Allows ongoing communication with the Ethics Committee
- Ensures complete data protection and confidentiality
- Aligned with EU and Spanish laws on whistleblowing and data protection
The platform is managed by a secure third-party provider (Co-Resol), ensuring independence and data security.

Motivation
At CIMNE, we are committed to upholding the highest ethical standards, guided by the principles of transparency and accountability. As part of this commitment, we have implemented a robust Ethics Channel that allows anyone—whether internal or external to the organization—to confidentially or anonymously report any suspected misconduct, ethical breach, or non-compliance they may have observed.
This channel is established in accordance with Law 2/2023, of 20 February, which governs the protection of individuals who report regulatory violations and anti-corruption measures. Reports may involve, among others:
-
- Acts of fraud or corruption
- Breaches related to information security or privacy
- Market misconduct and anti-competitive practices
- Other serious or very serious criminal or administrative offenses
- Acts of fraud or corruption
CIMNE has created five complementary channels to encourage ethical behaviour, inclusion, and transparency:
-
- Transparency Channel – To manage all public information requests
- Suggestion Box – For submitting ideas or complaints
- Anti-Harassment Channel – To report cases of sexual or workplace harassment, discrimination, or behaviour that threatens health, safety, or the environment
- Research Integrity Channel – A combined ethics and suggestion channel for the research community
- CIMNE Tecnología Channel – A dedicated channel covering transparency, suggestions, harassment, and anti-fraud
- Harassment Prevention Contact (for congresses) – To report inappropriate conduct during scientific and technical events
- Transparency Channel – To manage all public information requests
By making these tools available, CIMNE empowers individuals to raise concerns and actively contribute to building a safer, more ethical working and research environment for all.
Important: This “Ethics Channel” is not an emergency service. This channel should not be used to report on situations that involve an immediate threat. If you need assistance in such a situation, please contact emergency services by calling 112.
