You are invited to attend the Joint 4th ALAMA Meeting - GAMM Workshop on Applied and Numerical Linear Algebra 2014, which will be held at the Facultat de Matemàtiques i Estadística (FME) of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, from July 14th to 16th, 2014. The subject of the Conference will be applied and numerical linear algebra and matrix analysis.

This Meeting pays a well-deserved homage to Professor Juan-Miguel Gracia, an outstanding Mathematician, who has realized seminal contributions to the fields of Theory of Matrices, Matrix Analysis and Linear Algebra. Professor Juan-Miguel Gracia, from the Department of Applied Mathematics and Statistics, University of the Basque Country, has devoted his research to spectral perturbation, pseudospectra, singular values, matrix functions, derivatives of eigenvalues and nearest matrices with less generic Jordan canonical form, among others. He is one of the founders of the Matrix analysis and applications research group of the University of the Basque Country and was the first Coordinator of ALAMA Network at the moment of its foundation, September 27, 2007, and the first president of the ALAMA Permanent Comission of ALAMA for two years.
