Civil air transport has been a steadily growing sector. Its operation contributes about 2.4 % of the global CO² emissions. This high-tech transport sector has the ambitious goal of becoming CO²-neutral by 2050.

For reaching this challenging target, all relevant technologies need to be addressed and innovative technologies need to be introduced. The civil aviation sectors in Europe and in China belong to the most intensive air transport areas of the World.

Workshop innovative

Since more than 15 years a research cooperation in relevant technologies contributing to the greening of aviation took place between European and Chinese research institutions and aerospace industry. The joint research effort should contribute to more environment friendly aviation on a global scale.

The Workshop on Innovative Scientific/Technical Approaches for a Climate Neutral Air Transport will address research on promising technologies for greening future aviation. It will take place in Barcelona from 22-24 November 2022.
