Prof. Eugenio Oñate, ranked as the Best Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Scientist in Spain

Eugenio OñateThe 2nd edition of Research.com has been published the ranking of the best scientists in the discipline of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. According this study, created using data consolidated from a wide range of data sources including OpenAlex and CrossRef, Professor Eugenio Oñate, the former director of CIMNE and current leader of the Structural Mechanics group of the centre, has been ranked as the 1st researcher on Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering in Spain.

With a D-Index of 81, 24.161 citations and a 516 registered publications, Professor Oñate leads the national ranking in Spain and occupies the 94th position in the worldwide one.

Research.com has also identified in the ranking seven researchers of Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), namely: Profs. Ramon Codina, Miguel Cervera, Antonio Huerta, Xavier Oliver, Sergio Idelsohn and Asensi Oliva. The first five are also senior researchers at CIMNE.

Prof. Javier Bonet, the current director of CIMNE, is also listed in the ranking, as a member of Greenwich University (UK), where he was affiliated up to May 2022.

Research.com has also presented to Prof. Oñate the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Leader Award for 2023.
