ERC Starting Grant

- Full name: ERC (European Research Council) Starting Grant
- Description: The ERC’s mission is to encourage the highest quality research in Europe through competitive funding and to support investigator-driven frontier research across all fields, based on scientific excellence.
Are you a talented early-career scientist who has already produced excellent supervised work, is ready to work independently and shows potential to be a research leader? The ERC Starting Grant could be for you.
These grants are for researchers with 2-7 years of experience since the completion of their PhD, a scientific track record showing great promise and an excellent research proposal. - Call for applications: Yearly calls for proposals covering all scientific fields (It is 14 October 2025)
- Project Grant: Up to € 1.5 million for a period of 5 years
- Salary: Salary commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the candidate and according to the institutional salary scales.

Ramon y Cajal

- Full name: Ayudas para contratos Ramon y Cajal (RyC)
- Description: These grants are intended to promote the incorporation of research personnel, Spanish or foreign, with an outstanding career, in Spanish R&D centers, in order to acquire the skills and abilities that allow them to obtain a stable position in a research organization of the Spanish System of Science, Technology and Innovation.
- Call for applications: Open date: expected from October to November 2025.
- Duration: 3 years + 2 years (in order to access to the 2 extra years R3 accreditation is mandatory).
- Salary: from € 36.800 to € 45.700 gross per annum
- Complementary grant: € 50.000 will be granted, to cover expenses directly related to the execution of their research activities. It includes support staff.
