Four new Excellent cum Laude doctors at CIMNE

This summer four CIMNE's PhD students have defended their PhD theses within different PhD programmes. The first one was Alberto Tena, who presented Automated disease detection by machine learning and bio-sound analysis on 3rd June, 2022, within the framework of Engineering and Information Technologies programme of the University of Lleida. Directed by Francesc Solsona and Francisco Clariá, the thesis was qualified with an Excellent cum Laude.

On 15th June, 2022, Xufei Lu presented his thesis Computational and experimental thermo-mechanics of metal additive manufacturing: stress, warpage, cracks and properties directed by Michele Chiumenti and Miguel Cervera within the Structural Analysis of the Technical University of Catalonia. It was also qualified with an Excellent cum Laude.


Professors Chiumenti and Cervera has also directed the thesis Finite element simulation of additive manufacturing with enhanced accuracy of Carlos Moreira, within the programme of Civil Engineering of the Technical University of Catalonia presented on 21th July, 2022, and qualified with an Excellent cum Laude.

Martí ComaOn 26th July, 2022, Martí Coma defended his PhD thesis Optimization on industrial problems focussing on multi-player strategies directed by Gabriel Bugeda and Jordi Pons under the programme Science and Aerospace Technology of the Technical University of Catalonia. Coma's PhD thesis was qualified with an Excellent cum Laude.
