CIMNE’s spin-off to provide advanced energy management system in Menorca

des. 19, 2023

CIMNE spin-off Inergy, a provider of advanced energy consultancy services and tools, has won the tender to provide the island of Menorca (Spain) with an advanced energy management system to optimise and reduce energy consumption on the island, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.

Inergy will provide the Menorca Island Council and its eight municipalities with the Energy Management Software (SIE), a state-of-the-art solution for the analysis and managenent of energy consumption and billing. This tool will help public authorities to optimise the conditions for contracting energy supplies, access real-time and aggregated data on energy consumption and evaluate measures to reduce emissions.

In this context, the SIE Planning module will allow authorities to plan specific actions in the field of energy and climate, recording all actions segmented by sectors, areas and time periods.

As part of the tender agreement, Inergy will also supply Menorca with the SIE Observatory module, an integrated solution to access real-time information on the energy consumption of all buildings and public lighting panels on the island, allowing for efficient benchmarking.

Lastly, the Menorcan authorities will implement the SIE self-consumption module to manage, monitor and optimise public photovoltaic utilities, increasing the importance and efficiency of renewable energy on the island.

Inergy is a CIMNE spin-off company created in 2012 to provide solutions based on the combination of advanced engineering energy services and its own pioneering proprietary products. It is 50% owned by CIMNE Tecnología, SA, an organisation created by CIMNE to protect the intellectual property rights, industrialise and commercialise the technology and prototypes developed at CIMNE.
