CIMNE researcher Xavier Oliver, awarded with the Narcís Monturiol Medal

Xavier OliverThe Government of Catalonia has awarded to the CIMNE researcher Xavier Oliver with the Narcís Monturiol Medal. The government has published the resolution of these awards which recognize the scientific and technological merit of ten researchers of the knowledge catalan system.

In this edition, five women and five men have been awarded with the medal. Award-winning individuals and institutions cover all areas of knowledge, from the life and health sciences to the humanities and social sciences, to architecture, engineering and the rest of the sciences. As in previous years, this year it continues to move towards the gender balance of the Catalan R&D system, made up of more than 41% women.

The Fundació Vall d’Hebron Institut de Recerca (VHIR) has received the plaque Narcís Muntoriol. This distinction recognize its task in the promotion, development and transfer of the research in order to improve the health and quality of life of people, which has made it one of the pioneering scientific centers of the southern Europe, while excelling in scientific impact and wealth creation through knowledge transfer.
