Arnau Fabra obtains his PhD in structural analysis

In mid-October, CIMNE researcher Arnau Fabra defended his doctoral thesis entitled Modeling of the mixed form of wave problems with correcting terms based on training artificial neural networks: Application to acoustic black holes.

Professors Ramon Codina and Joan Baiges, from the Fluid Mechanics group at CIMNE, supervised Arnau Fabra's thesis.

Thesis defense

This thesis presents novel approaches that use computational methods to solve problems of wave propagation in acoustics and linear elasticity. Furthermore, this thesis also explores the incorporation of correction terms based on artificial neural networks to improve the accuracy and efficiency of numerical simulation solutions.
