The Spanish National Committee on Large Dams (SPANCOLD) is organizing the XIV Jornadas Españolas de Presas to be held at «Palacio de Exposiciones y Congresos de Granada» in Granada, Spain, from May 11th to 14th, 2026. The event has been held since 1985 in different parts of the Spanish geography and, on this occasion, the Guadalquivir River Basin Authority and the Granada City Council act as hosts, with the collaboration of CIMNE.
At the Spanish Dam Conferences, all matters related to water regulation and use that are considered of particular interest to public administrations and bodies, companies, professionals, universities, and research centres are discussed and analysed.

In the current context, the conference will address two topics of particular importance: the safety of dams and reservoirs, and their contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The implementation of new dam safety regulations, along with their conservation, maintenance, and rehabilitation, as well as innovation in their planning, design, construction, and operation, are undoubtedly key issues for the sector.
At the same time, the necessary adaptation to climate change—ensuring, through the development of hydraulic energy storage, the safe integration of all renewable energy sources—will be crucial to achieving a successful energy transition.
Granada will provide a new opportunity for exchange and the enrichment of ideas. We look forward to your participation.
