The International Centre for Numerical Methods in Engineering (CIMNE) has successfully renewed its TECNIO accreditation for the period 2025-2028, reinforcing its position as a leading technology developer in Catalonia's innovation ecosystem.
This recognition, granted by the Government of Catalonia through ACCIÓ (Catalan Agency for Business Competitiveness), acknowledges CIMNE's exceptional technological capabilities and its commitment to transferring research advances to industry partners.
The renewed accreditation strengthens CIMNE's dedication to technology transfer and research impact, particularly in addressing major societal challenges including climate change adaptation, healthcare innovation, advanced manufacturing, sustainable urban development, and green energy transition.
Mr. Jordi Jiménez, CIMNE's Head of Technology Transfer and Innovation, will oversee the implementation of strategic initiatives under this accreditation, with Ms. Jazmín Ríos serving as program manager.
Established in 1987 as a consortium between the Polytechnic University of Catalonia-Barcelona Tech (UPC), the Government of Catalonia, and UNESCO, CIMNE has developed extensive expertise in computational engineering and numerical methods, supporting thousands of research and technology projects worldwide.
The TECNIO label not only recognizes CIMNE's technological excellence, but it is also a testament to its ongoing commitment to creating tangible impact through research innovation and strengthening Catalonia's position as an attractive international hub for technological advancement.
