Work in WP1 will focus in the collective assessment and report on the strategy to be followed for the development of the project objectives, identifying any gap activities and redundancies. The technical specifications of the web-based AEROCHINA2 Communication System, the DataBase and the Virtual Collaborative Platform will also be defined in WP1. Additional work will include the initial specification of the data collection and quality assessment procedures and the dissemination and exploitation plans.
The AEROCHINA2 Communication System will be developed in WP2. Work will focus on the development of the web structure, the data storage and the communication procedures.
The development and management of the multidisciplinary database will be part of the activities in WP2. The development and management of the multidisciplinary Virtual Collaborative Platform will be also part of the activities in WP2.
WP3 will focus in the state of the art review and collection of existing multidisciplinary mathematical models, numerical and experimental methods, simulation results and test results. Data collected will be stored in the database within the AEROCHINA2 Communication System. The definition of data quality assessment procedures will also be a task in WP3.
WP4 will focus in the definition of RTD activities which will deserve further joint RTD work in Europe and China for analysis and design optimization of multi-physics problems in aeronautics. The exercise will be carried out for multi-physics models, numerical and simulation methods, experimental methods and test cases. Both scientific and industrial aspects will be considered. Specific RTD activities that are mature for joint proposal in FP7 will be defined.
Work in WP4 will be organised around different multi-physics working groups that will be set-up during the kick-off meeting. This working groups will be integrated by all the participants interested in common types of multi-disciplinary problems like aeroelasticity, aero-thermal floes, aeroacoustics, etc. A maximum of six Working Groups (WG) will be set up each of them with a minimum of two European participants and two Chinese participants.
The organization of a Kick-off meeting/Workshop (in China), two Database workshops (one in Europe and in China) and a one Short Course (in Europe) aiming to disseminating both internally and externally the information compiled in the AEROCHINA2 project will be carried out in WP5.
Work in WP6 will be focused in the identification of RTD multi physics areas for future collaboration between European and Chinese institutions, in order to setup proposals for new collaborative projects in the near future. In this direction, the output of the different Working Groups will be crucial because the corresponding chairmen will have the key responsibility to elaborate the future Europe-China clusterized or synchronized future research project(s) with industry. This approach makes the task of WG chairmen critical in identifying areas and teams during the development of the AEROCHINA2 project in close interaction with industry. The major multiphysics ingredients outcomes will represent the building blocks to implement the next proposal.
In this direction, each WG will organise 2 open workshops. The identification and the decisions about join RTD future collaborative projects with industry will be made from the synthesis of the contributions to each WG achieved by all partners.
WP7 will deal with the project management tasks.
