ABSTRACT
The seminar will be given in Spanish (with slides in English), but queries will be also answered in English if requested.
A great idea, in the hands of a mediocre team, usually fails, while a normal idea handled by a good team can evolve into something revolutionary. So what are the keys to these teams? On one hand, the Attitude towards Innovation and on the other to create Well-Balanced Teams.
Multiple methodologies help us to understand and to start the innovation process, which is much broader and more complex than simply having ideas. Regardless of the innovation process we choose (Design Thinking, Double Diamond, Lean Startup…), we can broadly distinguish between four empirical and iterative phases in all of them:
- Understanding the problem
- Devising the solution
- Prototyping
- Exploitation into the target market
Knowing that it is essential to cover all the phases if we want to have chances of success, one question arise: “Is it possible to create Well-Balanced Teams with an Innovative Attitude?” The answer is: Yes!.
From Positive Psychology, specifically Gallup's Clifton Strengths, we can see, on the one hand, that what makes us different can be translated into a value proposition towards Innovation and also a fostering attitude towards the innovative process, so that we can all BE INNOVATION. On the other hand, by associating Gallup's Four Clifton Strengths Domains with each of the phases of the innovation process, we can determine which phase is most appropriate for each person and, at the same time, ensuring that we do not leave empty phases. By building mechanisms that help empathy, trust and synergies to be created, these teams will quickly move to a state of collaborative maturity. This is key to naturally bring out the best of each person for the benefit of Innovation. The direct application of this methodology in your work teams will make the innovation explode into concrete realities.
