**Call Update: Proyectos Colaboración Público-Privada (CPP2026) – The CPP 2026 call will not be launched. This is due to ongoing changes to the EU State aid framework, which require the programme to align with the revised General Block Exemption Regulation (GBER). The next call is therefore expected to be CPP 2027, with a provisional launch in June 2027.
REGIONAL CALLS:
[!] Some of the Catalan calls are still pending publication, awaiting the approval of the Catalan Government’s budget – An online information session will take place on 10/07, where additional details are expected to be provided on three new calls currently planned for launch. The current timeline foresees their publication around September. If you would like to attend the session, you can register here:
- Technology Exploration Grants (Ajuts d’exploració tecnològica): Aimed at companies from any sector to validate early-stage ideas and technologies, helping reduce uncertainty and risk before making investment decisions
- R&D Project Grants (Ajuts per a projectes d’R+D): Support for industrial research and experimental development activities. This year’s call is targeted at companies in the chemical sectorand its value chain
- Technological Innovation Grants (Ajuts a la innovació tecnològica): This funding line supports technology transformation projects through the adoption of advanced digital technologies. This year’s call is aimed at the automotive and mobility sector and its value chain

- Severo Ochoa 2026. At the institutional level, CIMNE has submitted a proposal to the 2026 Call for Severo Ochoa Centres of Excellence and María de Maeztu Units of Excellence. As many of you already know, CIMNE has a strong track record in this programme, having previously been awarded the Severo Ochoa Centre of Excellence distinction. This recognition acknowledges research institutions that demonstrate outstanding scientific leadership, international impact, and a strong capacity to generate high-quality research.
- New Horizon Europe calls: The European Commission is preparing new Horizon Europe calls focused on the transition towards the next Framework Programme and on biodiversity – A draft of the document has already been published in the comitology register, allowing stakeholders to consult the topics expected to be addressed in future calls.
- Biodiversa+ is pleased to announce the upcoming launch of a new transnational joint research call entitled Novel ecosystems: biodiversity, socio-ecological consequences and future trajectories (BiodivFuture) – Launch of the call on 09/09/2026. This call covers investigating the causes (drivers), effects (biological responses), and outcomes (including opportunities, risks and trade-offs) of current and future trajectories of change in all relevant realms (terrestrial, freshwater, marine and coastal areas), in all regions of the world.
- Egypt: EU and Egypt strengthen research and innovation partnership following Horizon Europe association.
- New FOREST Call. European Partneship FOREST Joint Call 2026: Building Knowledge and Solutions for Resilient Forests and Sustainable Forest-Based Futures – The first FOREST call brings together 38 research funding organisations from 28 countries. 4 Topics: Climate-resilient forest systems; Adaptive and multifunctional forest management systems; Wood and innovative wood-based products and Forest value chains, markets and governance – Indicative call publication date: 15/09/2026
