The 6th General Meeting of Aulas CIMNE was held on April 30th 2015, at the Instituto Tecnológico de Buenos Aires (ITBA).The meeting was attended by 12 members of the Latin American Aulas CIMNE Network. Other participants included professors from other Universities in the region, officials from the Centro International de Métodos Numéricos (CIMNE, Barcelona), Fundación CIMNE Latino America (Argentina), as well as researchers at YPF’s Technology and Research Center for Computational Methods (Argentina)

Summary of the meeting:
The Meeting opening addresses by ITBA’s Director, Ing. Norberto Lerendegui and Dr. Eugenio Oñate, Director of CIMNE were followed by a panel discussion on "Innovation and knowledge transfer" with the participation of: Ernesto Fernandez Polcuch (UNESCO Uruguay); Norberto Lerendegui, Director of the Escuela de Ingeniería y Tecnología ITBA; Marcela Raviculé and Gerardo Bobrovsky, YPF Tecnología, SA and Norberto Nigro, Centro de Investigación de Métodos Computacionales.
Topics of great interest to attendees, reflecting the diverse experiences and insights on innovation and knowledge transfer of the participating panelists, at all stages of the process, from the inception of the innovation idea to the resulting impact on society’s knowledge. During the rest of the meeting, the following presentations took place:
Dr. Eugenio Oñate (CIMNE) CIMNE’s R & D & I actions and its knowledge transfer activities through CIMNE spin-off companies. Javier Piazzese (Fundación CIMNE Latino America) presented recent news related to Aulas CIMNE Network: new website, newsletter update, additions to the network, achieved results and 2015 action plan. During the closing session 2 recently created Aulas and 2 Aulas CIMNE candidates were presented:
- Ing. Javier Piazzese presented Aula IFRO-CIMNE Classroom (Brazil)
- Dr. Sebastian D'hers outlined the plan capacities and activities proposed for the Aula ITBA-CIMNE
- Dr. René Meziat presented the Universidad de Rosario (Colombia) candidature
- Dr. Francisco Dominguez-Mota that of Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo (Mexico)
