In its approach to became an smart city, Sant Vicenç dels Horts City Council has signed a framework agreement with CIMNE. The research and development centre in computational engineering has been the technological partner chosen by this municipality to carry out the techologies addressed to promote the economic activity, the city, and the directional communication between the City Council and the citizens. The aim of the agreement is to develop and implement communication, security, sensor and process triggering solutions within the framework of "smart cities".

The first project explained by the parts to the media will be an intelligent key ring which will allow the access to information send by the administration. To activate the device is enough with the approximate it to the mobile, no applications needed to be installed. With this system the use, the communication become easier and accesible to all citizens, regardless their technical skills.
