Abstract The aim of the project is the evaluation of the accuracy and efficiency of the Particle Finite Element Method (PFEM) developed at CIMNE for the solution of implosion problems of interest to ONR. For this purpose CIMNE will solve the following two implosion problems using PFEM: 1) Simulation of a two-phase flow problem in a water/air scenario and 2). Analysis of implosion in a thin-walled tube Data for the definition of the problems will be provided by ONR. The accuracy andefficiency of the PFEM computation will be compared with experimental and numerical data available to ONR.
