CV | Narges Dialami obtained her PhD degree (mención Europea) (grade: Excellent cum laude) in structural analysis at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (Spain) in 2014. She is holder of prestigious academic and professional award in the field of computational mechanics and numerical methods. Her thesis was awarded the "best PhD thesis in numerical methods" prize by the Spanish Society of Numerical Methods in Engineering (SEMNI). She was among the finalists of “Best European PhD 2014” award selected by the ECCOMAS Association (http://www.eccomas.org/vpage/1/6/2014). Her thesis was also awarded the 'Premios Extraordinarios de Doctorado Promoción 2013/2014' in 2016 (https://doctorat.upc.edu/es/tesis/premios-extraordinarios). She received Jose Castillejo's mobility grant in 2017 for an academic stay at Canadian Center of Welding and Joining (University of Alberta) (https://www.mecd.gob.es/dms/mecd/servicios-al-ciudadano-mecd/catalogo/general/educacion/995678/ficha/995678-2017/RESOLUCION-DE-CONCESION-CASTILLEJO.pdf ). She was awarded FPI grant for PhD studies in 2008 and three post-doctoral grants: Personal investigador Doctor Junior en las universidades públicas del sistema universitario catalán (PDJ 2014), Juan De la Cierva formación (FJC 2014) post-doctoral grants in 2015 and Juan De la Cierva Incorporacion (IJC 2017) in 2018. She has participated in over 20 national and European competitive projects and presented her work in more than 40 national and international congresses. She is the author and co-author of 24 journal articles, book chapters and monographs. Her expertise includes numerical modeling of coupled thermo-mechanical and manufacturing processes. She is one of the authors of a novel numerical method for modeling and simulation of Friction Stir Welding processes. She was accredited by AQU (Catalan University Quality Assurance Agency) as lecturer in 2014 and as associate professor (agregat) in 2018. She has been teaching post-graduate level courses such as “Structure Analysis Techniques”, Advanced Masters in Structural Analysis of Monuments and Historical Constructions, Barcelona, Spain (since 2008) and “Computational Structural Mechanics and Dynamics”, Master on Numerical Methods in Engineering (UPC) and Master of Science in Computational Mechanics (since 2016 ). |
