| CV | Francisco Zárate is a Full Research Professor at CIMNE and an Associate Lecturer at the Technical University of Catalonia (UPC). Since 1997, he has taught Strength of Materials and Structural Analysis at the undergraduate level, as well as several master's courses since 1999. He holds a Civil Engineering degree from the University of Guanajuato, Mexico (1986), and from the Technical University of Catalonia (UPC, 2004). Additionally, he earned an M.Sc. in Numerical Methods (1991) and a Ph.D. in Structural Analysis (1996) from UPC. Throughout his career, he has participated in multiple national and European competitive research projects, as well as private consulting projects in the field of computational mechanics. His expertise includes plate and shell structures, discrete element methods, and stochastic analysis. He serves as a Board Member of the Mexican Society for Numerical Methods in Engineering, associated editor of Revista Internacional de Metodos Numericos and is the President of the International Association of CIMNE Joint Labs (AIAC). With an h-index of 19 (Google Scholar), he has authored over 140 articles in specialized journals and conferences. He has also contributed to the development of educational materials and programs, including MAT-fem (www.cimne.com/mat-fem). |
