Participation in 60 national and international research conferences Keynote lecturer in several international congresses such as COBIM (2003), COUPLED (2009) and NUMIFORM (2013). Chairman of the COMPLAS Conference series Member of the Scientific and Organizing Committees of different conferences (COMPLAS, COUPLED, ECCOMAS, etc.) as well as co-organizer of special invited sessions. Member of the Spanish Society for Numerical Methods in Engineering (SEMNI) since 1999. Referee for 8 international scientific Journals. Project leader several financed European and Spanish research projects, mainly related to the development of Finite Element (FE) based technologies for the numerical simulation of coupled thermo-mechanical analysis of metal forming processes for the manufacturing industry. Awards and fellowships: Fellowship from the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs of China through the High-end Experts Recruitment Program. Research interests: Finite element technology for highly non-linear analysis including the incompressible limit, strain-localization and tensile cracking. Non-linear constitutive modelling for coupled thermo-mechanical problems including phase-change. Numerical simulation of metal forming processes for the manufacturing industry such as metal casting for foundry processes, EB welding, Additive Manufacturing (AM) by metal deposition and Frictional Stir Welding (FSW).
