| CV | Ferran Arrufat studied Civil Engineering at the ETSECPPB. He started working at CIMNE while finishing his Final Degree Project. The main objective of that project was to evaluate the behavior of a oscillating dam with the PFEM code. He followed by joining the DEM (Discrete Element Method) team and started working on the testing, development and improvement of the DEMpack package, based on the DEM. He had the opportunity of using this software for the analysis of many engineering problems while working in different projects. including a bottom hole assembly simulation for Weatherford Ltd. He currently focuses on DEM thermal problems and on the improvement of the DEM constitutive laws library. |
