He has a PhD on Civil Engn. He has strong background in numerical modelling, via finite element methods and vertex discretisations, for the solution of problems in non-linear dynamics, material stability, tissue rheology and mechanobiology.

Member of Eur. Soc. Biomech., Soc. Española de Mét. Num. Ing. (SEMNI), and reviewer of over 30 international indexed journals, and 6 national research programs (Israel, France, Chile, Croatia, Romania and Flanders). Member of academic commission of Doctoral Programme in Applied Mathematics at UPC.

Strong international collaborations with research groups at Madison Wisconsin (USA), UCL (UK), TUe (Netherlands), Singapore and Newcastle (Australia). Visitor researcher (more than 3 months) at École Centrale Paris (France, 2009), Newcastle (Australia, 2013), Madison-Wiscconsin (USA, 2017).

He has supervised 4 PhDs (3 completed), 12 MSc theses and 6 international students.

He has published 30 articles in JCR journals (h=12, WoS, 16 in Q1 and 4 in Q2) and 4 book chapters. Participation in 5 and 3 national projects and international projects (Welcome Trust, Erasmus+, MSCA ITN). PI in 3 national projects. Organiser of one int. conference (Mulitbody Dynamics 2016), several minisymposia (ECCOMAS 2012, WCCM 2014, WCCM 2018), and national and international meetings (Mechanobiology@BCN, Banff)
