According this study, created using data consolidated from a wide range of data sources including <a href=\"https:\/\/openalex.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Open Alex\"><strong>OpenAlex<\/strong><\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crossref.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Cross ref\"><strong>CrossRef<\/strong><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cimne.com\/sgp\/dir\/Profile.aspx?id=518\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Prof. Eugenio O&ntilde;ate\"><strong>Professor Eugenio O&ntilde;ate<\/strong><\/a>, the former director of CIMNE and current leader of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cimne.com\/space\/1149\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Structural Mechanics\"><strong>Structural Mechanics<\/strong><\/a>&nbsp;group of the centre, <strong>has been ranked as the 1<sup>st<\/sup> researcher on Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering in Spain.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-size: 1.2em\">With a D-Index of 81, 24.161 citations and a 516 registered publications, <strong>Professor O&ntilde;ate leads the national ranking in Spain and occupies the 94<sup>th<\/sup> position in the worldwide one.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-size: 1.2em\">Research.com has also identified in the ranking seven researchers of Universitat Polit&egrave;cnica de Catalunya (UPC), namely: Profs. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cimne.com\/sgp\/dir\/Profile.aspx?id=380\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Ramon Codina\"><strong>Ramon Codina<\/strong><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cimne.com\/sgp\/dir\/Profile.aspx?id=375\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Miguel Cervera\"><strong>Miguel Cervera<\/strong><\/a>, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cimne.com\/sgp\/dir\/Profile.aspx?id=454\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Antonio Huerta\">Antonio Huerta<\/a><\/strong>, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cimne.com\/sgp\/dir\/Profile.aspx?id=514\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Xavier Oliver\">Xavier Oliver<\/a><\/strong>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cimne.com\/sgp\/dir\/Profile.aspx?id=456\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Sergio Idelsohn\"><strong>Sergio Idelsohn<\/strong><\/a> and <strong>Asensi Oliva<\/strong>. <strong>The first five are also senior researchers at CIMNE.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-size: 1.2em\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cimne.com\/sgp\/dir\/Profile.aspx?id=2184\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Javier Bonet\"><strong>Prof. Javier Bonet<\/strong><\/a>, the <strong>current director of CIMNE, is also listed in the ranking<\/strong>, as a member of Greenwich University (UK), where he was affiliated up to May 2022.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-size: 1.2em\"><strong>Research.com has also presented to Prof. O&ntilde;ate the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Leader Award for 2023.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"768\" height=\"1000\" src=\"https:\/\/research.com\/scientists-rankings\/mechanical-and-aerospace-engineering\/es\" title=\"description\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The 2nd edition of Research.com has been published the ranking of the best scientists in the discipline of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering.
