A group of young professionals on Thursday visited the facilities of the International Centre for Numerical Methods in Engineering (CIMNE) at the Mediterranean Technology Park in Castelldefels. This visit, part of the Innobus initiative<\/a><\/strong> led by Innobaix<\/a><\/strong>, offered 20 young professionals the opportunity to explore the research carried out at CIMNE and learn about the career opportunities the centre provides.<\/p>\n

During the event, Jazmín Ríos<\/a><\/strong>, tech transfer officer at the centre, showcased the centre’s commitment to transforming cutting-edge technology into practical solutions that benefit society. Ríos highlighted how CIMNE’s efforts in valorisation bridge the gap between research and real-world application<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The students also engaged with Mar Mesa Moreno<\/a><\/strong> from CIMNE's Human Resources team and Francisco De la Rosa from the Project Management Department, who introduced them to the various professional development opportunities offered by the centre. The presentations emphasized the potential for young talent to grow within the dynamic and multidisciplinary environment that CIMNE fosters.<\/p>\n

Further insights into the centre’s research projects were shared by Daniel Di Capua<\/a><\/strong> (Structural Mechanics Group), Sergio Jiménez Reyes<\/a><\/strong> (Composites and Advanced Materials Group), and Javier Piazzese<\/a><\/strong>, director of CIMNE’s spin-off Compass Ingeniería y Sistemas<\/a><\/em>, an engineering consulting company.<\/p>\n

The researchers presented ongoing challenges and breakthroughs in their fields, underscoring the centre's commitment to fostering innovation and creating spaces where young professionals can contribute to cutting-edge research.<\/p>\n

The Innobus initiative, which is supported by the Barcelona Metropolitan Area<\/a> (AMB), the Barcelona Provincial Council<\/a>, and the Ateneu Cooperatiu Baix Llobregat<\/a><\/em>, aims to connect students with innovative organizations in the metropolitan area. Participants also engage in mentoring and training activities designed to enhance their future career prospects.<\/p>\n
