And still is. Including uncertainty into the design process is essential.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-size: 1.2em\">Advancements in numerical analysis now even allow for real-time or faster than real-time simulation in the operational phase to assess any physical quantity at an arbitrary location (virtual sensor), thus outcompeting purely data-based approaches in extrapolation capabilities and accuracy.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-size: 1.2em\">Industrial examples in predictive maintenance and operator assistance underline the impact of simulation for the Metaverse.<\/p>\n<h5 class=\"cimne blue-background\" style=\"padding-left: 15px;float: none\">SPEAKER CV<\/h5>\n<p style=\"font-size: 1.2em\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/stefan-boschert-31978b19b\/?originalSubdomain=de\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Stefan Boschert\"><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cimne.com\/cvdata\/cntr2\/spc2\/dtos\/mdia\/News\/stefan-boschert.png\" alt=\"Stefan Boschert\" style=\"float: left;padding-right: 15px;padding-top: 5px;padding-bottom: 5px\" width=\"200\" height=\"168\" \/>Dr. Stefan Boschert<\/strong><\/a> graduated in physics from the University of Freiburg i.Br. After his PhD in 2000 he worked for an engineering company in Basel, Switzerland. Since 2004 he is working at Siemens Technology, currently in the technology field Simulation &amp; Digital Twin. As principal key expert he is responsible for coordinating the application and development of simulation capabilities for Digital Twin applications in design and engineering. He has a strong record in simulation based system development and virtual design, which includes multiphysics simulation, process models and integrated data &amp; simulation model based approaches. He has expertise in the set-up and implementation of mechatronic design processes and its extension to cyberphysical systems.
