This technology relies on fluid manipulation by an electric field, which gives rise to EHD-flow patterns that can be adapted for manufacturing either particles or fibers. <strong>EHD-based manufacturing is increasingly popular for specialized applications due to its ability to tailor various materials with desired morphology at the micro and nano scales.<\/strong> To optimize the performance of this advanced manufacturing process, extensive experimental studies have been conducted, and numerical simulations have been developed to predict and analyze the behavior of EHD-flows. Thus,<strong> this work focuses on the use of Computational Fluid Dynamics, specifically the finite volume\/volume-of-fluid and enriched finite element\/level-set approaches, to model the EHD-flows.<\/strong> The interfacial effects presented in the EHD problems are represented as volume and interfacial forces in the first and second approaches, respectively. The present work shows for advances in the numerical modeling of the electro-mechanical coupling in EHD problems. He holds an MPhil in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Manchester (UK) and a PhD in numerical simulation from the Universitat Polit&egrave;cnica de Catalunya (Spain). He has taught at the Universitat Polit&egrave;cnica de Catalunya and the Universidad de las Fuerzas Armadas ESPE in Quito-Ecuador. He has over eight years of experience and has held various academic roles, including researcher, manager, and lecturer.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-size: 1.2em\">He is currently involved in research activities at the University of Louisville (USA), University of Illinois Chicago (USA), Universidad T&eacute;cnica de Manab&iacute; (Ecuador), and Universidad Cat&oacute;lica de Murcia (Spain).
