{"id":241054,"date":"2023-07-13T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2023-07-12T22:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cimne.com\/sin-categoria\/professor-matsumoto-visits-cimne\/"},"modified":"2025-10-27T09:52:53","modified_gmt":"2025-10-27T08:52:53","slug":"professor-matsumoto-visits-cimne","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cimne.com\/ca\/professor-matsumoto-visits-cimne\/","title":{"rendered":"Professor Matsumoto visits CIMNE"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-size: 1.2em\">On July 8<sup>th<\/sup> 2023 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fel.t.u-tokyo.ac.jp\/ymats\/index_en.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Yoichiro MATSUMOTO\"><strong>Professor Yoichiro Matsumoto<\/strong><\/a>&nbsp;visited CIMNE accompanied of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/2019.worldscienceforum.org\/participants\/asano-kana-36000\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Kano Asano\"><strong>Ms. Kana Asano<\/strong><\/a>, Science and Technology Researcher from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mofa.go.jp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan\"><strong>Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-size: 1.2em\"><strong>Professor Matsumoto<\/strong> is a <strong>Professor Emeritus <\/strong>at the<strong> University of Tokyo and Science and Technology Advisor <\/strong>for the <strong>Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan<\/strong>. He is also a <strong>recognised international scientist in the fields of mechanical engineering and computational mechanics<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-size: 1.2em\"><strong>Ms. Asano<\/strong> is a Fellow of the<strong> Science Diplomacy Group<\/strong> in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jst.go.jp\/crds\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Science for Research and Development Strategy of Science and Tech Agency\"><strong>Centre for Research and Development Strategy of the Science and Technology Agency of Japan<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-size: 1.2em\">The participants of the meeting from CIMNE side at the meeting were <strong>Profs. Javier Bonet<\/strong>, CIMNE director;<strong> Gabriel Bugeda,&nbsp;<\/strong>director of Institutional Relations; and <strong>Eugenio O&ntilde;ate<\/strong>, former director and founder of CIMNE.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-size: 1.2em\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cimne.com\/cvdata\/cntr2\/spc2\/dtos\/mdia\/News\/YOICHIRO-MATSUMOTO.jpg\" alt=\"Visit YOICHIRO-MATSUMOTO\" style=\"padding-bottom: 5px\" width=\"768\" height=\"465\" \/><br \/><span class=\"cimne green\"><strong>From left to right:<\/strong> Prof. Eugenio O&ntilde;ate, Ms. Kana Asano, Prof. Javier Bonet, Prof. Yoichiro Matsumoto and Prof. Gabriel Bugeda<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-size: 1.2em\">The meeting was focussed <strong>on exploring opportunities for cooperation between Japanese scientific institutions and CIMNE<\/strong>. The possibility that <strong>CIMNE<\/strong> could act as a <strong>host institution for Japanese scientists<\/strong> in the field of Computational Mechanics was also discussed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-size: 1.2em\">During his visit, Matsumoto participated as a <strong>speaker in the International Forum on Science Diplomacy<\/strong>&nbsp;held on July 8<sup>th<\/sup> at Llotja del Mar in Barcelona.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On July 8th 2023 Professor Yoichiro Matsumoto&nbsp;visited CIMNE accompanied of&nbsp;Ms. Kana Asano, Science and Technology Researcher from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan.
